Mother Sri Lanka and National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA) Enter Strategic Partnership to Elevate Local Entrepreneurs Through “Made in Sri Lanka” Initiative

As a significant step to strengthen Sri Lanka’s entrepreneurial landscape, Mother Sri Lanka (MSL) and the National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 15th May 2025 at the NEDA Head Office in Narahenpita, Colombo.
Both organizations’ top officials graced the signing ceremony. Chairperson Dr. Janaki Kuruppu and Director Prof. Ananda Jayawardane were in attendance on behalf of Mother Sri Lanka. On behalf of NEDA, Chairman Lakshman Abeysekera and Director Dhanuka Liyanagamage signed the MOU together, initiating a three-year business partnership.
With this historic agreement, a strategic collaborative partnership centered on the growth and promotion of the “Made in Sri Lanka” (MISL) brand and its related trade portal, an e-commerce platform intended to introduce Sri Lankan MSME products to a wider market, both locally and globally.
This partnership will bring together NEDA’s national development mandate and MSL’s robust grassroots network, forward in supporting MSMEs as achieving the shared goals of creating a more robust ecosystem for Sri Lankan entrepreneurs. With regards to the broader vision of the initiative, the MOU will be the stepping stone to empower MSMEs with the resources and exposure they need to succeed in today’s competitive market through MISL brand; a celebration of Sri Lankan identity, quality, and entrepreneurial spirit. MSL Chairman Dr. Janaki Kuruppu will act as the initiative’s Brand Ambassador, enhancing its visibility and value proposition across the country. Thus, the partnership highlights a common dedication to equitable economic growth and the empowerment of Sri Lankan MSMEs via creativity, assistance, and patriotism.
